On January 21, 2012, the Church of Scientology of Hamburg newly opened its doors to the city in a dedication ceremony attended by 1,500 Scientologists, guests and dignitaries. The grand opening marked the culmination of a transformation of the seven-story Church into an Ideal Church of Scientology (Ideal Org) to better meet the needs of Hamburg’s growing Scientology congregation and the community at large.

On January 21, 2012, the Church of Scientology Hamburg celebrated the opening of their fully transformed home at Domstrasse 9 in Altstadt, the center of Hamburg’s historic district.

In her commemorative statement, Ms. Pia Michel, Executive Director of the Church of Scientology of Hamburg, proclaimed: “There are some 300 churches, mosques and temples in the city of Hamburg. For more than forty years, the Church of Scientology has been a strong voice in that religious community. But the opening of this new Church marks a turning point, for the flame of religious freedom burns brightly today on behalf of all, and so it will forever.”In honor of the occasion, Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, stated: “This Ideal Org signals a new era for Scientology in Germany for, in a very real sense, this Church is Scientology itself. It was conceived to mirror the Scientology Organizing Board, and so accommodates every function called for in our Founder’s policy. It was meticulously planned to deliver all Scientology services in exact accordance with our Founder’s technology—from every Introductory Service to the top of our Bridge. And it was designed to embody the spirit of Scientology, and so provides an introduction where anyone and everyone can find out for themselves who we are and what we do. So allow me to extend a welcome to all. From this day forward, our doors are open and our help is yours.”

In full representation of that pledge—working together in a cooperative effort to help one and all—among those on hand to inaugurate the new Church were some of Hamburg’s foremost civic and religious leaders. They included a long outspoken human rights advocate, the founder of a leading youth drug addiction and prevention organization, a religious rights leader from the Greek Orthodox community and an advisor to Germany’s forthcoming Memorial and Documentation Center on National Socialism.

________________

A prominent feature of the new Hamburg Ideal Org is a comprehensive Public Information Center, enabling all visitors to answer the pivotal question, “What is Scientology?” Occupying the entirety of the ground floor, it contains a gallery of multimedia displays presenting the beliefs and practices of the Scientology religion, as well as the life and legacy of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard. The Information Center also provides a complete overview of the many Church-sponsored humanitarian initiatives, including a worldwide human rights initiative; an equally far-ranging drug education, prevention and rehabilitation program; a global network of literacy and learning centers; and the Scientology Volunteer Minister program, now comprising the largest independent relief force on Earth. The displays offer some 500 informational and documentary films at the touch of a button. Open morning to night, the Information Center welcomes visitors to tour at their leisure and return as often as they wish. In combination with its adjoining café, the Information Center is also configured to accommodate hundreds at a time for weekly Open Houses.

The Church was further planned to serve as a gathering hub for the entire community. The Chapel, home to all Scientology congregational services and ceremonies, can also be configured as a venue for events and other assemblies to coordinate humanitarian initiatives for the benefit of Hamburg and all her citizens. The venue is fully equipped with state-of-the-art video and audio for special film presentations and seminars. The Chapel further includes facilities to host receptions and banquets.

The new Hamburg Ideal Org also now includes expansive facilities to provide Introductory Services for those new to the religion, including regularly scheduled Dianetics and Scientology Personal Efficiency Seminars and an array of Life Improvement Courses.

________________

The Church of Scientology of Hamburg is the newest of dozens of Ideal Orgs opened in the past five years.

Ideal Orgs realize the fulfillment of Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s vision for the religion. They not only provide the ideal facilities to service Scientologists on their ascent to greater states of spiritual freedom, but they are also designed to serve as a home for the entire community and a meeting ground of cooperative effort to uplift citizens of all denominations.

The Church of Scientology Hamburg is the first Ideal Org to open in 2012, joining a parade of Ideal Orgs already opened in cultural epicenters across Europe, including: Berlin, Germany; Moscow, Russia; Brussels, Belgium; London, England; Madrid, Spain and Rome, Italy.

Other new Churches opened in recent years include Washington, D.C.; New York, New York; Los Angeles, California; Pasadena, California; Inglewood, California; Seattle, Washington; Tampa, Florida; Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota; as well as Québec City, Canada; Mexico City, Mexico and Melbourne, Australia.

More than 15 new Ideal Orgs are scheduled for grand opening in 2012.

_________________

The Scientology religion was founded by L. Ron Hubbard. The first Church of Scientology was formed in Los Angeles in 1954 and the religion has now expanded to more than 10,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, with millions of members in 167 countries.

It’s xmas eve and still so many presents to wrap and prepare for tomorrow… so only a short pointer to an interesting article. Otherwise: Happy Holidays!

Source: http://www.scientologynews.org/press-releases/christmas-media-advisory.html

The Scientology Religion and the Holiday Season

At this time of year, media often ask how Scientologists observe the holiday season. To answer that question, the Church of Scientology International provides the following:

How do Scientologists celebrate the holiday season?

Observances of the holidays are as diverse as Scientologists are.

Because the Scientology religion is practiced in 165 countries and territories, Scientologists come from a wide variety of faiths and cultural traditions.

But no matter what their background, they, like most people, gather with loved ones to enjoy the warmth of friends and family and celebrate the joy of the season.

Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard honored the great religious leaders of the past for the wisdom they brought to the world, writing that Scientology shares “the goals set for Man by Christ, which are wisdom, good health and immortality.” It is in this spirit that Scientologists celebrate the holiday season, whether Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa or any other religious or cultural tradition.

Scientologists live by a code which includes: “To use the best I know of Scientology to the best of my ability to help my family, friends, groups and the world.” During the holiday season, Scientologists are especially active in this respect, volunteering in a wide range of endeavors to improve the lives of individuals and the community and bring joy to those who may need assistance.

What do Churches of Scientology do during the holiday season?

In addition to regular Scientology religious services, Churches of Scientology provide many special holiday activities for Scientologists and open houses and tours for the community at large.

Scientology Churches and their parishioners also organize and support numerous charitable events during the holidays, such as toy drives, food and clothing collections, and parties for underprivileged children. Scientologists visit nursing homes, orphanages, hospitals and homeless shelters, bringing holiday cheer through gifts and entertainment.

With the opening of new Ideal Churches of Scientology, community and charity events sponsored by the Church and its members are held continuously throughout the holiday season. In Inglewood, California, with its new Church and the nearby Scientology Community Center, in Melbourne, Australia, Twin Cities, Minnesota, Moscow, Russia and Tampa, Florida, social campaigns have their own dedicated spaces to get together and work out support actions for the community.

Christmas Stories

The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood produces Christmas Stories, an annual holiday benefit performance presented in the style of a 1930s radio show with traditional and original stories, songs and skits. (http://www.scientology.cc)

For nearly two decades, proceeds have benefited the Hollywood Police Activities League’s annual Christmas party for underprivileged children and PAL’s year-round inner city programs for at-risk youth.

Winter Wonderland

In an annual tradition beginning in 1983 when Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard provided a 60-foot Christmas tree as a gift to the people of Hollywood, Winter Wonderland holiday village is erected each year on Hollywood Boulevard as a service to the community. The opening of the village on the Sunday after Thanksgiving signals the start of the holiday season, when Santa arrives in his sleigh—always the final float in the famed Hollywood Christmas Parade—and lights the tree and village. Made possible by the Friends of L. Ron Hubbard Foundation, Winter Wonderland attracts more than 40,000 Los Angeles residents and tourists to daily live performances by community vocal and instrumental groups and snow banks imported for the season.

Winter Wonderland is also presented for three weeks each December in Clearwater, Florida, as a service to the community and to benefit needy children. The Church of Scientology and parishioners organize and sponsor the Christmas village, with ten of thousands of residents and tourists enjoying Santa, Mrs. Claus’s cookie decorating kitchen, live entertainment by local school, church and professional performing groups, a petting zoo and pony rides. (http://www.clearwatercommunityvolunteers.org)

Since 2009 the usual hate crimers and Anons (same difference) were trying to glue a tragic suicide of a boy on the Church of Scientology and Scientologists. Unsurprisingly it now turns out that there was no relation at all, just as the accused have said all along. As the judge in the case put it, the accusation was “A MERE HYPOTHESIS that is without essential support based upon reasoned and direct inference from the available evidence.”

To me it was clear that the case was bogus the moment I heard who was pushing the case. But the general public does not have this interest in background connections and – unfortunately – nor does the “media.” One would think that journalists have a minimal ethics code to follow and actually they do. The Society of Professional Journalist ethics code says: “Journalists should be honest, fair and courageous in gathering, reporting and interpreting information.” Sure. How courageous is it to pound on a grief-stricken father who just lost his son to a suicide? How fair is it to repeat online rumors and conclusions from rabid anti-Scientologists? How clever is it to follow an obvious spin campaign instead of doing actual research?

Let’s have a look at the people who pushed the hate campaign:

1) Anonymous – attention whores, paid and unpaid dupes in the name of hate and persecution of minorities. Not much needs to be said about these assholes. For those who don’t know what I am talking about, read here.

2) Dave Touretzky – another fanatic lacking the guts to do some real research and stand for his errors. There is plenty of information about him here and here.

3) Rick Ross – a former criminal and deprogrammer who IMHO never got to stop his ways, only his means.

4) Scott Pilutik - former legal assistant to Ken Dandar (the lawyer in the above case) and in bed with a couple of anti-Scientology campaigners (like Touretzky above). Did he think there was money in for him? Lame.

5) Mark Bunker – since 2008 the Anons are drooling over him because he took over the thinking for them. They call him Wise Beard Man. Well, Bunker, nomen est omen, is a hardhead for sure but not for humanitarian reason. My guess is that he wouldn’t be able to make any money if he wasn’t selling his services to brain-dead dupes.

Still boring, still in search to get a life: Anonymous.

Gene Simmons Hacker Arrested Kevin George Poe- member of hacker collective Anonymous- was arrested for shutting down Simmons website

Notorious hacking collective, Anonymous, has been linked to major attacks on websites including Playstation, Mastercard, Visa, and the Church of Scientology. On Tuesday, one of the group’s members, Kevin George Poe, was arrested in Connecticut for hacking into GeneSimmons.com, the KISS frontman’s website.

According to Reuters, a court date has not yet been scheduled, but Poe has been accused of using a computer program that bombarded Simmons’ website for five straight days in October 2010. The site was attacked with tens of thousands of requests in a denial of service attack.

Poe has been charged with conspiracy and unauthorized impairment of a protected computer. If convicted, he could serve up to 15 years in jail.

For those of you unfamiliar with a “denial of service” attack, essentially the software is designed to send a large number of requests to the sites network. The server becomes overwhelmed with the requests and shuts down. This method is apparently a favourite of the Anonymous collective.

It is unknown why Simmons website was chosen to attack by Poe.

Jason Beghe – one of the stars of “X-Men: First Class” and a veteran actor — is under criminal investigation for allegedly attacking a man who was wacking weeds on his property, TMZ has learned.

Today is Dianetics Day, the day the basic book “Dianetics – The Modern Science of Mental Health” was published for the first time.

The Friends of LRH did a press release on that, and here it is:

This day in history marks the Anniversary of “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health.” Written by L. Ron Hubbard and released on May 9th 1950, Dianetics has become an all-time self-help bestseller with over 21 million copies sold in 165 nations and has appeared on a total of 116 bestseller lists.

Events in commemoration of the Dianetics anniversary and news of its worldwide use are scheduled throughout the world this week in what is also the L. Ron Hubbard Centennial Year (1911-2011). Centennial celebrations commemorating Mr. Hubbard’s life (1911-1986) were launched internationally in March of this year and are set to continue throughout 2011 on significant dates relating to Mr. Hubbard’s life & works.

L. Ron Hubbard was born in Tilden, Nebraska on March 13th 1911 and is widely known as an author, humanitarian and the founder of Scientology. L. Ron Hubbard also became the nation’s youngest Eagle Scout in 1924, just two weeks after his thirteenth birthday. By the age of 19 he had traveled over 250,000 miles and became a prolific writer of fiction in the 1930s and 1940s—publishing over 138 short stories, novelettes and novels. His writing funded his research into the nature of man forming the basis of what later became Dianetics & Scientology.

During World War II he served as Lieutenant in the US Navy where he saw action in both the Atlantic and Pacific. After the war L. Ron Hubbard continued his research and on May 9th, 1950 “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health” was released and has become one of the best selling self-help books with over 21 million copies sold and is available in 50 languages.

For more information on the life and works of L. Ron Hubbard visit the new interactive audio visual website http://www.lronhubbard.org.

A New Zealand newspaper called “Stuff” reports today that “New Zealand bans UK couple over Scientology case”. As the story goes, Robin Scott, 62, and his wife Adrienne, 61, were refused residence in New Zealand based on the fact that they did not let the authorities know about their criminal past. So far, so normal. BUT, it wouldn’t appear on Scientology Myths if not one of the uglier “Myth” would be connected to one of the two, Robin Scott.

As “Stuff” says:

“Mr Scott had served a month in a Danish prison before being deported in 1984. He later agreed he faced a criminal charge but said it was essentially a civil dispute over “industrial espionage”. He had waited outside a Scientology property in Copenhagen while two accomplices wearing the insignia of senior church officials gained entry and obtained teaching materials to use in a business he had set up for students wanting to study Scientology from outside the organization.”

A squirrel. One of those who stole materials that are still circulating as “actual Scientology materials” (most of them are not, but some kind of “interpretation” or “improvement”). Well, it didn’t last long until he showed his true colors. “Stuff” continues:

“In 1996 he was sentenced to four years’ jail, and in 1998 he was sentenced to another two years and six months on the cannabis charges. Mrs Scott was sentenced to 15 months, and later 240 hours’ community work, on the charges she faced but she was accepted for registration as a teacher in New Zealand.”

It’s never too late to get one’s life in order. Robin, start with this.
